● Introduction

Double direction thrust ball bearings consists of a shaft ring, two seat rings and two sets of steel ball cage assemblies, and the assemblies are separate and interchangeable. Each part can be installed, disassembled and inspected independently. Like single direction thrust ball bearings, the bearings can only bear axial loads, not radial loads, with a very low limit speed. The bearing can bear the axial load in two directions, limit the axial displacement in two directions, and cannot limit the radial displacement of the shaft. When the axial direction of the shaft and the bearing seat hole do not coincide, especially at high speed or high acceleration, or when the load direction changes rapidly, it will cause the radial runout of the steel ball assembly on the raceway, causing the double direction thrust ball bearings to fail prematurely. The center line of the central axis and the supporting surface of the shell should be vertical, and the axis should not be inclined or deflected.

Thrust ball bearings are suitable for parts bearing axial load and low speed, and are widely used in automobiles, machine tools, heavy machinery and other fields.

◆ Selection of bearing ring blanks

1. Annealed bar: suitable for turning of small bearing rings with an outer diameter of less than 50mm, with low material utilization and large turning amount. Suitable for machining large batches of bearing rings on multi-spindle automatic lathes.

2. Tube material: It is mainly used in the comprehensive automatic line of small and medium-sized bearings for mass production, and is directly turned by a single-axis or multi-axis automatic lathe, with small turning amount and high production efficiency. The size of the tube material is generally 20~80mm, not more than 105mm. The bearing rings with small diameters use cold steel pipes, and those with large diameters can use hot-rolled steel pipes. Bearings made of steel pipes have a longer life than those made of ordinary forgings. The disadvantage is that the steel pipe is more expensive and the specification is insufficient.
