Forging Process of Bearing Ring
Jul 13, 2020
Press forging process of ring forgings types can be divided into the extrusion process (plastic), extrusion, rolling process, (plastic) set of forging rolling process, the tower (plastic) crowded rolling process (plastic) and free punching rolling process, if increase after rolling shaping process, can further improve the quality of forgings, precision and productivity.
1. Extrusion process. After the heated material forging upsetting cake is placed on the press, it is extruded in the forging die, and finally the core is punched out to get the forging. This process is called the extrusion forming process on the press. It is often used in the production of small bearing rings, and the most commonly used are cylindrical forgings and outer conical forgings.
2. Extrusion and expansion process. For small and medium-sized forgings, in order to reduce the extrusion forming force, small tonnage presses are used to produce larger-size forgings, reduce the size of waste cores, and use the advantages of tosing and expansion technology to improve the quality of forgings. The forgings can be extruded on the press as blanks before tosing and expansion, and then tossing and forming in the tosing machine. This process method It is called extrusion and expansion process. At present, it is generally used in the production of forgings with an outer diameter of 40~160mm, mainly round and simple forgings, internal and outer groove forgings and internal and outer conical forgings.
3. Sleeve forging rolling and expansion process. A heated material section is upsetting and sleeved on the press, and then the flat end surface of the ring billet is sent to the hole dilater to expand to obtain the bearing outer ring forging, and the cutting core is used to obtain the inner ring forging using the extrusion worker or extrusion and expansion process introduced earlier. This process method is to set forging and expansion process. This method produces a set of auxiliary forgings with only one core, the material utilization rate is high, and the inner coat ring can be forged. At present, it is mainly used in the production of centripetal ball bearing ring forgings, that is, small, medium and medium-sized cylindrical forgings and internal and outer groove forgings.
4. Tower-shaped extrusion and expansion process. Upsetting an additional material section on the press, extrude into a tower forging billet connected up and down with the inner and outer rings, and then separate the forging billet. The outer ring forging billet is plasticized or expanded to obtain the outer ring forging, and the inner ring forging billet is punched or expanded to obtain the inner ring forging. This process method is called tower extrusion and expansion process. Like the forging process of the same set of forging, it also has only one core and inner and outer ring forgings. At present, it is mainly used in the production of centripetal ball bearing ring forgings, that is, small, small, medium and medium-sized cylindrical forgings, as well as internal and outer groove forgings, internal and outer conical forgings. Compared with the previous process method, the number of workstations in this method is small, the quality of the forging billet is high, especially the inner ring forging billet, because the inner ring forging billet is closed and formed in the mold cavity, the weight and size are relatively accurate, it can process very small bearing inner ring forgings. The disadvantage is that the deformation force is large when extruding the tower shape, and the adjustment of the tower mold structure and mold is complicated.
5. Free punching and expansion process. The heated material section is made of a ring billet by free punching forging on the press, and then the forging is obtained by expanding the hole dilating machine. It is mainly used in various types of forgings in small and medium-sized. Compared with the extrusion and expansion process, the deformation force required by this process is small and the core is small, but the operation technology requirements are high. The cake cannot be elliptical, and the punching hole cannot be offset, so as to avoid a large thickness difference.
Although there are many forging processes, they are composed of upsetting, forming, punching, dilating and shaping processes, as follows:
1. Upsetting: lower the height of the billet and increase the diameter at the same time.
2. Forming: Make the billet deformed by punches in one or more concave model chambers to obtain forming billets that meet the requirements of the process. Different forming processes can obtain forming blanks of different shapes.
3. Punching: Punch out the formed core, cut off the inner and outer rings of the tower billet, or punch through holes in the center of upsetting billet.
4. Reaming: reduce the wall thickness of the blank while expanding its inner and outer diameter dimensions, and changing the cross-sectional shape of the forging.
5. Plastic surgery: After the hole is expanded, the blank is finely refined directly in the concave model cavity to further improve the geometric accuracy and dimensional accuracy of the forging and the size consistency of the same batch of forgings.
