(1) The advantages of grease:

2) Grease is usually suitable for heavy load, low speed, high temperature, low temperature, high speed extreme pressure and shock load harsh conditions, also suitable for intermittent or reciprocating motion of the parts for lubrication.
3) The grease has strong ability to keep on the friction surface and good sealing performance.
4) Grease lubricated machine can prevent oil dripping and oil splashing from defacing the product, and can operate normally in vertical position without producing oil leakage.
5) Grease has strong adhesion ability on the metal surface, which can protect the metal from rusting for a long time, and some grease can also protect the metal parts in water from corrosion.
6) The applicable temperature range of grease is wider than that of lubricant.
7) Grease lubrication, do not need complex sealing device and oil supply system, can simplify the mechanical structure.
(2) The disadvantages of grease:
1) Cooling and heat dissipation effect is not as good as the lubricant;
2) The friction torque is larger when starting the equipment with grease lubrication; 3) The replacement of grease is more complicated than the replacement of lubricant.
In general, the life of grease is lower than the calculated life of the bearing. Therefore, it is necessary to replace new grease when the grease still has good lubrication performance to ensure the normal operation of the bearing. When determining the grease change cycle, many factors need to be considered, such as bearing type, size, speed, working temperature, grease type, bearing working environment, etc., as well as to prevent pollution and grease leakage of the seal effect, and the lubricant itself also has a significant impact.
